Competitive Advantage 1: Sound Business Practices

We are proud to say that we earn and keep our clients by supporting your team with sound business practices. We are building a business one distribution center at a time. We have implemented state of the art accounting, payroll and hiring practices that we customize and implement nationally.

Competitive Advantage 2: Strong Management Experience

We did not grow up working in the “lumping” business and decide one day to start our own company. We have extensive management and business experience and we have brought that experience to On Time Freight Handling. We have 35+ years of combined experience in business planning and forecasting, personnel management and technology infrastructure development.

Competitive Advantage 3: Quarterly Review Program

Our quarterly review program allows our executive management team to sit down and talk about what is working, what is not and ideas for how to expand on successes. The quarterly review program allows us all the opportunity to communicate how our service can improve at your site.

Competitive Advantage 4: Employee Recruiting

Prior to placing any applicant at a client site they must go through an extensive screening and training program.

Step One: Application Process

On Time Freight’s in-depth, four-page application is our number one screening tool. Our recruiters are specifically trained on how to review the application and probe such “red flags” as date discrepancies, blank answers, or gaps in employment.

Step Two: Interview

Each recruiter is trained to interview each applicant above and beyond the standard interview questions that cover work history, skills, education, etc. With expertly honed interpersonal communication skills, our recruiters can discover more about an applicant in five minutes than most interviewers can find out after an hour of questioning.

Step Three: Reference Checks/Verifications

It is our policy to obtain and verify prior employment references on each of our applicants. A recruiter who contacts each of our applicant’s previous employer(s) to verify their work history personally handles reference checks. Verification of eligibility to work in the United States and of social security numbers is also thoroughly completed.

Step Four: Hands-On Training

As soon as the core team for Raley's site is hired, we schedule the team to come to one of our existing client sites and go through a hands-on training. This allows us the opportunity to ensure that the candidate is reliable and qualified. We also have found that this process allows the candidate the opportunity to fully understand the position so that they can determine that this is the right long-term fit for them.

Step Five: Candidate Drug Testing

On Time Freight does a pre-employment drug screen for applicants before we make an offer for employment. In the event that an applicant does not pass the drug screen, the offer is rescinded and they are no longer eligible for rehire for at least six months.

Step Six: Candidate Criminal Background Testing

On Time Freight does a pre-employment criminal background check on all employees who hold a supervisor or management position with us. In the event a client site required all of our personnel to have criminal background checks, we could accommodate that as well.

Step Seven: Employee Performance Reviews

On Time Freight conducts a 90-day performance review on all employees and offers performance raises based upon an individual’s attendance, production level and attitude. We provide another performance review at each employee’s one-year anniversary.

Step Eight: Employee Incentive Program

All of our employees are able to participate in our company sponsored Employee Incentive Plan after their first 30 days on the job. Our incentive program provides a team bonus for each client site that is based upon productivity, labor costs and overall profitability of the site. The incentive program was designed to reward our employees for increased production and earn additional income based upon the overall performance of their team.

Step Nine: Employee Safety Incentive Program

On Time Freight develops an Employee Safety Incentive Program for each client site based upon the site size, number of employees at the site and percentage of worker’s compensation premium attributed to a particular site. Employees are rewarded with a raffle for staying safe as a team and quarterly incentives for going 90+ days injury free.
